I thought that would refract blue light more though. Since its a thin atmosphere this would explain the dawn being blue 1/2
However at mid day there is less atmosphere for the light to pass through so less refraction. Wouldn't this result in white light?
In principle yes. But the red soil will reflect, and so will the red dust in the atmosphere. All causing a reddish haze.
