School's out!

Child abuse makes me so angry. I turned this incident over to our school's guidance counselor. This mother also told him school was cancelled when we weren't. I still wonder what happened to him. (It's been 13 years)

He literally peed on a girl's head. Fortunately, it was at the end of the school day and we were about to send the kids home. Thankfully, her parents weren't upset and just took her home to clean her up.

This child broke my heart. His Mama had 4 children, all ages 5 and below. She'd come home pregnant and leave the new baby with her parents to raise before taking off again. He had supervised visits with his Mama during the school day and would come back visibly upset and emotionally out of control. Generally, he'd come back during nap time (kindergarten) and I'd just let him talk, draw, and cry.

He came to school without being fed. I gave him my snack for the day and sent him to the cafeteria for breakfast on me. From then on, I kept snacks in my drawer.

This was a very honest child, too. Her mother could not figure out where this tale had originated. Also a lesson to those in authority that children have vivid imaginations. Gather facts.

Two mothers in the same year had this story that they openly told me. Thaaaaaat explains a lot. I was also 99% sure one of them showed up high for parent/teacher conferences.
