Help Some Firefighters!!

Nov 16, 2016 3:08 AM

3 days ago I got this email and I've debated posted this for numerous reasons. I was waiting to see if anyone else would cover this and since it hasn't, I decided to post about it. More than two-thirds of career firefighters will deal with some sort of cancer in their lifetime. Cadets are told that they have a 300% chance of getting cancer than the average civilian, yet they continue on.

This post is for awareness and for the opportunity to help out an organization that sacrificed its only annual fundraiser to keep everyone involved safe. If you can help, please donate. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm not the best speaker, but I feel the post speaks for itself.

Huh to the science people of imgur is it because of smoke? Or some other factor like chemicals that cause the cancer ?

Well smoke is a carcinogen, so yeah breathing in smoke would eventually lead to cancer. At the same time breathing in O2 can be harmful too

Probably due to fire retardant chemicals. They're carcinogenic.

Buildings are toxic as fuck, and that's before you set them on fire. So both.
