I don't think online dating is going to work for me.
I was with the same man for 9 years.
When we met (when I was 18) there weren't dating apps and Facebook wasn't even popular yet. At the time, I had a barely touched MySpace account.
And now, after so much time of not being single, I am completely at a loss.
Do people not actually date anymore?
Do they just meet up, do the nasty, and never speak again?
Incurable romantics like me don't really stand a chance with this new "dating" format....
If there's any interest, I can make a follow up to include some of the best (worst) screenshots of messages, pictures, etc I have received.
TL:DR I'm newly single and hate online dating.

Agreed. The trick is when you see a person you like, smile. If they smile back talk to them.

Any suggestions? The area that I live is pretty rural and there's not a lot going on unfortunately.

Depends which site you use. Most of the free ones are just for hookups, but the paid ones have less people. It's a trade off.

It did the same to me. It was like looking for love in the seediest pub in town. I actually ended up meeting my partner in a game online.

trust me I know. The only "coworkers" I have are parents of autistic kids (behavioral therapist for autistic kids). I do the same.
