We have similar climates just north in Juneau. Looks like you solved it with waterproofing outer garments. Love hiking/fishing in the rain.

2/2 it rained for almost 2 months straight. The only reason it stopped was I rambled on to rainy Washington.

The B.C. Lower mainland rainforest gets a lot of rain every year, It can rain every day for weeks.

Stanley Park is nice walking terrain. But there are a lot of signs that specifically say not to go off trail due to fragile micro ecosystems

I was there in i think it was 08 when we got decent rain, whole damn place flooded. Couple years after that, mudslides from heavy rain.

Mudslides are just a part of the game with rainfall but have a lot to local tree populations. you'll notice not a lot of slides 1/?
