If you're strong and dedicated enough you can still party with both sides.

My metabolism sped UP when I hit 30, is it not supposed to?

Hitler was a vegetarian and died at age 56. I think that says everything about that diet and no further research is needed.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 15

Was definitely the baby carrot through the brain that did him in

And everyone who has ever drank water has died, so no further research is needed there, either.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were trying to be funny, but c'mon, man.

Yes, it was a joke. And I thought it was obvious enough to not need the /s at the end. I'm fine with people not liking my humor. But it sucks that we’ve apparently seen so many statements as ridiculous as the one I made above but meant seriously, that it's not obvious to everyone that this here was a joke.

Most a propaganda show. Hitler did occasionally eat meat.

Also he died from lead poisoning, not bad diet.

I heard it was depression? Evidently work wasn't going well.

Compromise: Mushrooms and olives on the pizza, an extra lettuce leaf on the burger. Healthy!

To quote the sexy beans man Liam "Addition is better than subtraction"

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lettuce is the only topping I get on burgers and some of these assholes have the audacity to charge for extra lettuce. Fuck that!

"It's a salad!"

Pizza ain't that bad unlesa you really meaa it up qith a too american style.

First day using a keyboard?

Huh?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My attempt: "Pizza ain't that bad unless you really mess it up with a too-American style," by which I assume they probably mean way too much meat and no vegetables but I can't confirm that.

Hear me out on this. Cauliflower crust pizza. Now I know what you're thinking, and I agree, but there's the one I've been having called Caulipower, I get the cheese one and throw some extra veggies on it and pepperoni and cook it so it's nice and crisp and it's actually GOOD. Other cauliflower crust pizzas have sucked, but this one I actually like and get some a semiregular basis.

Have had those. They're alright, though not terribly filling. For the curious, good cauliflower crusts are decent tasting. Cheap ones just taste like mashed cauliflower and linger with you for a day.

Rights, thats why I throw on the extra ingredients. Half half the pizza for a meal and an extra side salad or veggie to go with it and I've had no problems staying full until the next meal time.

You can either age, or you can go die about it in protest.

Now, I'm not your doctor, life coach, or priest, but I strongly recommend you stick to option 1.

Did a pharmaceutical rep write this?

I find that it's around the time your doctor starts mentioning the word 'cholesterol' casually that you need to start really giving a shit. Like, once that words comes up, that's your sign to change your habits now or regret it.

And you don't have to go full vegan, 'eat a handful of almonds if you're craving chocolate', calorie-counting crazy about it. Just... order out less, cook at home more, generally just make smart choices without depriving yourself of joy and you'll be good.

Hell fucking no. We are literally going to have a global climate catastrophe by 2050. this is NOT worth sticking around for, fuck that.

Everybody ages, until their body decides to stop. I'm not giving up the one thing I truly enjoy in life.

Counterargument: The world is burning, things are constantly getting worse, humanity is doomed, and people seem incapable of banding together to generate the change necessary to at least minimize the consequences. Why live longer and have what you eat taste just as depressing as the world around us?

3 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 7

Not a counter argument, just the same stupid take the likes of republicans have always made. "I'll be dead, why should I care? I only care about myself."

Anyway there's plenty, plenty of room for hamburger and pizza. It just can't be your entire diet, and you wouldn't want it to be either. Not even just for your lifespan, just for everyday quality of life.

Counterargument: What you choose to eat localizes the consequences to yourself far more than say... bombing another country, or strip mining resources.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Agreed, counterargument.

I mean, there are plenty of ways to eat tasty food without being needlessly unhealthy about it. Ever since my husband and I learned how to make our own pizza dough, we're definitely eating more pizza than we used to because it now costs us ~$15-20 in ingredients vs. a $15-20 'offer' on UE/DD + fees + more fees + a fee because fuck you we can for a total of $73.24 (plus tax and tip) for one large pizza and a side of garlic knots.

Also swimming in less grease, salt and other shit by far.

it's almost like either end of the spectrum is an extreme take and there is a large, perfectly healthy, middle ground

3 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Can't say something like that without spreading the recipe details! :o

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My favorite is how Papa Murphy’s charges $20 for a cheese pizza now

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck that. I’ll eat the garbage $4 frozen pizza that tastes 5x better since I have to heat it either way. And I just have a ton of salad with a bunch of veggies and lo cal dressing so I eat a bit less pizza.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sure, you can make healthy food palatable, even decent. But somehow the worst things for you will always taste the best. Turkey never beats cow. <https://youtu.be/TVkV2oGPM2k?t=102>

Exactly. The "food is either unhealthy or tastes depressing if it is healthier" argument just tells me the person hasn't learned how to cook. It doesn't have to be boiled chicken and vegetables. It can be roasted, seasoned, smoked, braised, etc etc. And like you pointed out a homemade version of almost anything is healthier than restaurant. Make a burger at home. Homemade pizza is far better than most takeout. And yeah eat a vegetable more often than not and don't be afraid to season them

See I think this is moving the conversation into different territory... from things like: pizza, red meat, and cheese vs healthy greens and vegetable, to "low quality fast food" versus "homemade high quality ingredients". Completely different conversation.
