2 white + 3 red Bourgogne

Dom. Latour-Giraud Mersault Genevrières, 2013

N: oak & butter comes first, disappears into the background with a swirl. Yellow apples, white flowery notes and chalky minerality.
P: Striking acidity, lime and pinepple/passionfruit. As it mellows out, nutty notes come out, almond and hazelnut. Medium length with great balance.

Dom. Rémi Jobard Mersault Genevrières, 2010

N: big whiff of tropical fruit, nectarines, peach and pinepple together with more toasty oak. Reminds of Champagne bread crust
P: Rich tropical fruit notes, yellow pears and stonefruit. Sweet shortbread. Wet stone-like minerality comes out in the very end. Wonderful lenght where acidity comes into play later on.

Dom. Jean-Louis Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin, 2013

N: Flower store up front, not the actual flowers but the green and somewhat pungent thing that goes on there. Give it a swirl and cherry and raspberry come out. Clean fruit.
P: Fruit is very clean by now, almost no typical PN markers. Cranberry, cherry, raspberry and some herbal notes. Apparently about 30% new oak but almost undetectable. Ripe and juicy with vivid acidity.

Dom. Jean Grivot 'Aux Boudots' Nuits-Saint-Georges, 2009

N: root beer note up front, darker fruit. Overripe strawberry and blackberries, autumn leaves. Nice and complex, sit back and let it build up.
P: Strawberry and plum fruit, liquorice and mossy forest floor. Didn't know the price by this point but it seems my Bourgogne taste is expensive. Apparently this is a wall-to-wall neighbor to La Tache.
Good for them!

Dom. la Pousse d'Or, Corton Clos du Roi, 2012

N: Dark cherries, viola flowery with slight roasted coffee and smokiness. Also picking up this geranium note, green and stalky.
P: Powerful dark fruit, black peppery and with green notes. Fruit goes towards dried cherries. Very interesting Bourgogne, out of style of anything I've had before.
