Texture and shadow resolution isn't even 10% of what it would need to be to pass as a photo. There's a huge amount of pixelation.

Not really, not in terms of the game engine. That thing was poorly optimzed and even the best PC could keep 30 FPs when it launched.

There was nothing wrong with how Crysis 1 ran, it just was reason intensive due to how good it looked not because of bad optimization.
