Donald Trump's Justice Department told the states to turn in their immigrants or their neediest families will lose their welfare checks.

Every state shares $16.4 billion in cash aid for needy families. For 28 years only welfare offices had to report undocumented immigrants to Washington. Now every state agency must, including the DMV and the board that licenses people who cut hair.

The government said the change "does not impose new obligations on states," then added that they can always give up the money. Every mob movie has the scene where the man in the doorway is sorry to bother you and would hate to see anything happen to the store. This time the people who get hurt are the families who need help the most.

15. For decades the GOP holds SNAP/Food Stamps hostage to the rest of the Farm Bill that it is under. Either the Dems approve industry backed rules & regulations that enrich companies like Cargill, ADM, Monsanto-Bayer, Tyson, etc., or the kids will go without food. This is despite SNAP in many ways is also a subsidy for farmers and big corporate grocery who otherwise would not get that money if the hungry were not fed.

The renaming thing seems silly but Google and Apple have already demonstrated that they are willing to forge a false reality (relative to the rest of the world) at the behest of a single politician—what happens when they’re requested to change history and it sticks?
