Front page ftw!

You had me till the mufflers. They are going to take a beating! Beautiful otherwise and makes me miss the '70 I learned to drive on.
Couldn't run the header without something that low really. Plus I like the sound of those mufflers. They probably will take a beating lol.

Was expecting to see Texas license plates. You could get good money for that from the right Texas Longhorn fan when you're ready to sell.
thelostzelda
Wait is this the boss of DeamonMachine from Twitch?
SS2000Ali
Those muffs won’t be there long.? I had a brand new 68 when I was 17, had it a month until I rolled it. Bumpers are not OEM.
Spent all that time/money on the resto, and no radio? ?

Jealous
Had a feeling you had done some work in the engine compartment! Looks great, enjoy.
NirvanaNik
What, no engine pik?
DaisyfromDownunder
Get into the back seat and you'll be a maiden no longer.
liebermandean11
What has he done to the Engine
Tanhis
Nice beetle, just a pre warning that silencer does not play well whit that rideheight.
zeacorzeppelin10
Fucking awesome
Maximillion58
The white sides & rims give it a classy look.
kilmore
1968 or 1969? My first car was a '68. I'm on my 6th VW
74 standard with a few changes
headlights and taillights from 68-69
how's the engine look? stock 1600cc?
hugovongogo
68 was the start of the flat bottom rear lights, I think
Yes.
although this one is a bit modified
nightster07
Nice! I just love old cars.
ObliqueRay
I take it that if I point out reality, I'm gonna be the asshole again, right?
cre8majic
Two-tone!
Hanasakke
What a Beaut! I'd like to own one some day. I do have a -76 Lada tho, so I got that going for me.
GlenL
Thanks, Hitler

This thing have a body like a tank, I've seen another car hit one from the back. The front totally busted but this guy,Only a chip paint.
MarkPenrice
That's not really a good thing. The car survives but the occupants don't. Also the body can shear clean off the chassis if things go wrong.
barneymeanswell
hmmm...that's not the case at all...they are made of sheet metal with very little structural framing. Opposite of a tank.
stupidhorseface
We had one in the family, the roof caved in after someone stepped on it
TheBiggerDisappointment
Yet still better build quality than modern cars.
ratfaceddog
The opposite of a tank is probably a ham sandwich or something.
crazywowow
Well, they're both aerodynamically challenged
thisiscatman
He didn't say who's tank. It might be as strong as a WWII polish tank. You know, the kind you feed oats.
Or the smaller British examples, which were little better than a regular car when facing off against a Panzer.
teknosapien
Nice restore. You should give us a shot of the trunk and under the deck lid.
I have posted some before so they should be under my profile
drewcrosby
I love the colors.
RVAALLDAY
My dads beetle back seat caught fire while driving once he said, apparently battery is under it and a short occurred?
That does happen. I do have a side post battery with plastic covering the terminals so that shouldn't be a problem.
GreaseMonkeyOfLove
Yep if the insulation is missing, someone sitting in the backseat can short the battery terminals together. Andthe padding is very flammable
Which is probably why most negative-earth modern cars have a rubber or plastic cap that fits over the positive terminal. Just in case the
frame or bodywork gets deformed such to touch the terminals (especially frame - which could include seat springs - to positive).
Slow and low, my man. But couldn't you find anything more aggressively 70's? :D

I personally want my suspension to actually work- but the rest is very nice- that orange used to be the most common color for bugs here
merlok13
Seconded re: suspension. Looks a bit low for my tastes, but the potholes in PA are much bigger than the NC ones. Sweet ride!
The plain orange is very common. This is a custom sunset pearl metallic. Ride is actually not bad. Not stock but nothing else is either.
Alkuam2
Ooh, so what's the engine?
I rebuilt the og 1600 dual port with dual 34's, engle 110 cam and hi rev valve springs. Pretty mild. May raise the compression ratio up soon
FeloniousMonk13
The stance looks perfect to me. Badass bug there. Cheers.
DerKonig
Going to Colorado Ted?
bgibson72
Needs to remove the passenger side seat first.
CheekyBreeki
Not with that leg in a cast he ain't.
