Like trapping a two-armed human in a room with a door that has three door knobs.

"The fuck"-birb.

Even poor 2factor is better than no 2factor IE email, text. Ideally you want software based on another device but having an email you use for nothing other than 2factor is at least a good start.

My bird would would hold a grudge against me for days if I did this to her. Imagine a feathered fluff ball, the size of a soda can, boiling in hot rage. I'm pretty sure she's still mad when I had to leave her with her grandfluffs for a few days.

After all that struggle, at least give birb some treat...

Also... "Alright, this contraption bars me from your food, but let's see if it bars your food from my guano!"

That's not how 2FA works, but it is a way to keep birb from food

Reminder: for sensitive accounts like banking, the second factor should be generated by a separate device - one that is not connected to any network. Because if the authenticator on your smartphone is the second source, stealing your phone will make it a one-factor authentication.

3FA

Something similar should be used with both SSNs and ballots. When you cast a ballot it should not only tell you if it was received but conform how it was counted in a private way such as an account login with your private facts. That way someone can pretend they received it and then just throw it away.

That's not two factor authentication, that's the same factor twice. It's just the birb isn't smart enough to figure out how to write the same password twice.

Yeah I was going to say - this is a really bad analogy. It's not 2FA.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is a really good analogy for what my previous job thought 2FA was. "Enter your password. Now enter your password again." 🙄

Yes, for important accoubts with PII and payment data and such. But I've been forced to use two-factor auth on accounts that have none of that. It's protecting nothing and is a pain in the butt. So now I hate two-factor auth.

Thank you for the blood sample ... you may now leave a comment on this blog post about puppies.

I don’t mind 2 factor authentication but I’ve also had to enter a third layer and that is just silly. (We’re texting you a code…ok now we’re emailing you another code…ok now put in your password…)

Now, lift your right leg up in the air, and place your left arm behind your head

Oh yeah, that's excessive.

I had 2FA at an office job where we had to do it every time we logged in, which we had to do after locking our desktop screen when we'd leave our desk (which was required). Our floor and building was locked already! So fucling annoying

I have to scan my card to get onto my facility, scan again to get into the building, scan, and enter a pin to get into my office, scan and enter a pin to get into my work space, then insert my ID and enter a pin to log onto my work station.
