This movie is way too underappreciated

But what about the Alcoves?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hell, even I have to admit my knees would not survive that struggle up those stairs.

RETRACT THAT BIT ABOUT MY CUNT FUCKING KIDS

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

And the soundtrack is beautiful. It’s one of my reference pieces for new headphones.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Was there last weekend. Beautiful, beautiful city and yes it is narrow and quite expensive to go up there

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How much ?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I went up to the top of the cathedral in Cologne. 500ish steps, 100m. I got back down, nearly dead and a fat lady looked very discouraged.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Obligatory: You're an inanimate fucking object!

Colin Farrell is one of the greatest and most underrated actors of his generation and this movie is Exhibit A.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 7

Exhibit b is total cheeseball. I mean recall

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

When he’s good, he’s very very good. He isn’t good very often.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Scoobar stole my words!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Id say he could simply have more luck in getting the right movies.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Amazing film. And been to the top of that tower. Yeah those guys aren’t getting up there.

Can confirm. Been there, they ain’t getting up.

I was there for 2 days in the summer, reaaally pretty town, lots of cool old buildings, nice canals and good beer! I recommend it :)

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't call it "dream list" material. watch the movie and you've pretty much seen it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It's a fairy tale fucking town. You should visit it. Chances are you'll like it. Bonus points if you take your partner there.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I was there for only a few hours but it’s a beautiful place to walk around and take in the sites. Also the beer is awesome

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

'Nuff said.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I went several time (I'm Belgian), always the same great magic, plus effectively we got good beer ;)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It is definitly worth it if you combine it with other cities in Belgium like primarily Ghent but also Antwerp, Brussels, Leuven.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If ya grew up on a farm, and are retarded, Bruges might impress you. But if you didn't, it won't!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

(it's an amazing town, visit it if you can)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Kinda dull. Lots of old buildings, but beautiful churches. Worth a stop if you're passing by, but not as a destination.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 8

Your "but" implies the old buildings aren't good. IMO the old buildings are the best thing *about* Europe, especially Bruges.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

It is a fairy tale town. Ideal and old feeling. Great for a day trip, or go in for dinner and stay the night. Belgium does great beer too.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Please don't forget to mention how damn friendly people there are. Awesome people there :)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That is my experience in every non-famous city. Avoid amsterdam, try Utrecht. Bruges > brussels. Except for city specifics tgat is

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just don't go to the "museum" in bruges square. It's an hour long movie shown in 10 min parts about a painters assistant that loses a bird >

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With no historical significance. Then you get to see the 3 artifacts which is just literal trash from the period. Waste of $, just do the >

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy shit I didn't realise it was him!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That scene with the jump, though.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

And that fucking karate chop!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its a valid point. In the cathedral of my home city ive seen plenty who have been stopped because the corridors was too narrow :P

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love this scene, but the fat guy couldn't sound less American if he tried.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

That’s how us Brits hear most Americans, to be fair.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

Its hard enough finding someone america-fat in Europe.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 7

British actors in US shows do fine US accents. British actors playing Americans for British audiences do Pepe LePew level stereotypes . . .

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

. . . Big, loud, booming voices, pushy or phony, depending on if they're a murder suspect or just an annoying tourist.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

You'd be surprised but almost every US tourist sounds like that when they come here.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

“Pardon me” instead of “what” gives it away. And the way the woman says “rudest man.”

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Those are common expressions in Ohio.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And in Canada, probably because there so close to each other. But for middle America, they stand out. And “rude” had an Irish accent to it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you liked In Bruges, I highly recommend The Guard. It also has Brendan Gleeson in it, and the directors of both movies are brothers.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The filmmaker's latest project just won Best Picture Golden Globe. "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I looked In Bruges and I adored Seven Psychopaths, so I really need to see Three Billboards.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, I was very skeptical going in to the movie but it's one of my all-time favorites. Splendid humor, dark undertones.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's probably my favorite movie of all time

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

One of my fav!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know I'll get down voted for this but I wasn't impressed. I think the trailer screwed me, as it was not a fast paced movie. Saw 5 yr ago

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Yeah, watched it again.. not impressed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was expecting something like Ronin (1998).

Alcoves are fine, it gets the point across. They’re also nested.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love later in the film when the guy says the tower is closed because some guy had a heart attack

8 years ago | Likes 2320 Dislikes 11

I thought you could see it in the background of a scene somewhere, but it's been a while since I've watched it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Be best friend tried to kill me and they he took my gun, I’m suicidal and I’m still in fucking Bruges!

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Then, like a flash, it came to me. And I realized, fuck man, maybe that's what hell is: the entire rest of eternity spent in fuckin' Bruges.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I don't want to die, not in fucking Bruges...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I totally missed that, now I have to watch it again

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's aactually one in Three Billboards that's a pretty major plot point
