Generally we use actual cheddar. The UK has a huge choice of "real" cheeses. Instead of plastic manufactured flavoured stuff.

We have toaster ovens. Probably the same thing. Sits on the counter, rectangular, a rack inside, glass door, temp/timer dials.

Few do, most don't. We usually just use a pan (preferably cast iron).
