My dog just came out of surgery!

He’d had a cherry eye for a long time, which caused dry eye and numerous infections. As the result, the cone has become a part of him.

This was him before the surgery. You can see his right eye was swollen and irritated him to the point he would scratch it whenever he got a chance. My heart broke every time he smiled at me with that red, swollen eye.

After months of waiting (until his infections cleared up, and during which the Texas blackout delayed everything), we finally got him into surgery. Now he’s all fixed and handsome!

He’s so doped up his tongue just stayed derped ?

I almost wish his tongue stayed like this...just too cute.

My brave little nugget. Because of the anesthesia and the discomfort from the surgery, he’s crying a lot, but other than that, he should be fine. I just can’t stop looking at him! He enjoyed plenty of attention and petting tonight.

This is when he was three years old. He’s going to be seven this June!
