I've worked as a grocer for a decade. Can't tell you how many times I'd have the scanner on me, scan and out of stock tag for a customer at the shelf, tell them our warehouse is out and it would be at least a week before resupply is available to us. Same customer comes back mad as hell I wouldn't do my job and reorder when they asked me two days ago. Got real bad during 2020. People just losing it over any little thing like they owned the place.

Gotta cater to the TikTok audience with their incredibly tiny attention span, for some reason.

Harrison Ford has absolutely worked retail.

I remember watching an interview many years ago where he said he used to work in a men's clothing store. The host asked him to guess what size suit he wore. Ford got it right despite being out of that line of work for decades.

I haven’t worked in a kitchen in like a decade and I am 100% certain I could still run a board solo during lunch right now if I needed to. Some skills you just don’t forget.

After a few months of watching an elderly relative descend into dementia, my first thought on watching this again was "sounds like the lady is having some memory or comprehension issues".

The funny part is there’s actually people even dumber than this. Anyone who’s worked retail has experienced this.

I have people daily calling my cinema to ask if we're closed and be surprised to find out that there's someone answering, telling them they arent...

And then asking us if we're "sure we arent closed".

So glad I never worked retail.

I tried to explain to a lady for 15 minutes that I could not slice her round loaf of bread at an angle. Literally drew her a picture of why it couldn’t be done. I finally sliced it regularly and turned it 45 degrees when I gave it to her.

If I got the same question three times with zero indication that my answers were processed I would assume the customer has dementia or something else affecting their short term memory. Especially if they're old.
I just refuse to accept that people can actually be that stupid, a belief I can comfortably maintain because I've never had to work retail.

Customer asks me where our tzatziki sauce is. I tell him fresh stuff is in the deli. He says he didn't find it there. I tell him we must be out. He then asks "well then how come she said you had some the other day?" "We probably ran out since then" man gets irritated "how does that work? It just evaporated?" The fuck do you mean? Do you not know how a store works? Ppl take shit off the shelves and take it home, eventually we run out if we don't get a new shipment

Stocking shelves at grocery store when: Obviously underage girl wants alcohol. Argues with cashier at the alc/tobac counter for ages over what I presume is a fake ID. After failing she comes up to me and tries to pay me to give her the booze I'm shelving. After a bit of back and forth I tell her to get lost or I'm calling the cops. 10 minutes later a level 99 Karen supreme shows up yelling at me for "harassing" her daughter. After explaining that she was trying to buy booze she scuffed and 1/2

said she drank at her age and turned out fine. I nodded as my sleep addled 22 year old brain understands what went wrong with the kid and walk away as the manager spends the next 20 minutes trying to explain why a 14 year old girl cannot buy alcohol to this living condom advertisement.

Worked in retail for over 8 years, have yet to meet people this stupid.

If that’s the case then all I can say is, you should buy a lotto ticket.

Had an older woman ask if a certain speaker we sold connected through Bluetooth, and I told her, "No, it connects using wifi." Of course, she argues with me, saying I'm wrong despite me trying to continually reassure her that this was, in fact, how the device worked, but she didn't believe me. The entire time, I'm just thinking, then why even bother asking if you apparently know the answer. Eventually I tell her to talk to a different worker and surprise, surprise, they say the same thing as me.

Working in a field dominated by men, and me being a female, I can always rely on my answer to be questioned, but the same answer from a man to be accepted. It never fails.

Are you sure your answers always get questioned? I need to hear that from your male coworker before I'll believe it

"Always" may have been an exaggeration.. I'm a woman after all. I'll get my supervisor.

But McDonald's does sell spaghetti.

It's one of the top sellers in their Singapore market, along with pizza.

At one point, there was a McSpaghetti (I can't remember if it was called that off hand.)
Reviews ranged from "complete trash" to "complete trash but I like complete trash"

I try to tell people McDonalds used to sell pizza for a brief stint at one point and I get talked to like I'm some Alzheimer's patient having a fever dream.
