When I lived in Türkiye, my parents came to visit so we were doing the tourist thing at Ephesus. We hadn't gotten very far in and were just walking around the theatre when a young girl gets up center stage and launches into Ave Maria. It was haunting and beautiful and none of us spoke. We just sat down and enjoyed the show for a couple minutes

Had the pleasure of attending a 4 string quartet from the Venice Orchestra that performed in a small church. It was unbelievably moving to hear that caliber of musician perform in a church with this type of acoustics.

First think I noticed, visually. Mother was a voice teacher, and Operatic dramatic soprano. Long lived voices require all but perfect posture to last into middle and late years, which is Very common among those performing professionally. Hope she finds mentors so her voice lasts as long as she breathes.

What's most impressive here is the architectural engineering, finding the golden angle for acoustic reflection revolutionised ecclesiastical stonemasonry and led to this beautiful reverb. The angle is 33 degrees, FYI.

I attended services at Canterbury, St. Paul's, and Southwark Cathedrals. St. Paul's leaves me a bit cold, but the acoustics in Canterbury and Southwark were absolutely magical and unforgettable. There is absolutely nothing like it.
