I proposed to my gf but instead of giving her a ring I gave her a tattoo machine. Being passionate about ink is actually what sparked the interest in each other.
She doesn't like wearing rings so I had to find a solution for the entire 'give a ring when you propose' problem.
So I contacted a company in Italy to make me a tattoo machine that will be used on the wedding to tattoo our wedding rings.
The look on her face when I got on one knee to pop the question was a mix of excitement and confusion. Because why in the hell would her bf pull out a tattoo machine whilst kneeling on the floor.
But she caught on quick and realised what I was doing.
And...she said YES!

Sunskin, the company that made it for me.

The view when opening the box. Kinda looks like a piece of jewellery doesn't it?

I wanted to do the engraving myself, but when they heared why I was ordering it, they engraved it for me.
And thank god for that. I would have messed that up big time.

Our initials and year engraved at the top.

The title of our favorite song at the bottom.
Upvotes for whoever knows the artist! ;)

The coils with a vintage depiction of a couple. We kinda resemble the drawings so it suited perfectly.

And a happy couple pic after. No faces, because you know, it's more mysterious that way ;)

EDIT: as you can see, there isn't a lot of visible ink. Most of my pieces are hidden on my legs and upper arms.
But here are a few pics :)

Puppy tax.

Really cool. Kind of a bummer they messed up the engraving though.

I Wanna Be Yours was covered by the Arctic Monkeys but written by the great John Cooper Clarke in the 70's.

Double the upvotes for you! Not a lot of people know it's actually a poem.

I expected to see at least a little bit of ink in that couple pic.

Most of our ink is hidden. Mostly because of our jobs. But I have 6 big pieces. If interested I'll link pics :)

Quite original, but engraved? Looks like they hand wrote it in gold sharpie....

The body is gold / bronze colored with a matte black paintjob. But on the pictures it does look like sharpie :D

That's sweet. I proposed to my wife with an imaginary wedding ring because it was the only one that could stay on her imaginary finger.

Based on the story I expected your arms to look much different. Is most of your ink hidden?
