What happens if small iron particles collect on it just as a magnet normally would ? Does it irritate your skin? Or is this not an issue?

I don't typically encounter iron particles on a regular basis so I don't have in issue there.

I have heard about the chrome covering over the magnet can crack and flake and then there might be all sorts of problems.

My magnet is from Samppa Von Cyborg and his are coated in silicon to help prevent rejection. I think Haworths are the same.
