She didn't expect to see a dolphin just a few feet away on her Florida vacation, but at least she didn't panic and got to enjoy the awesome close encounter a dolphin. She will be telling this story for a long time. I prefer to think dolphins and manatees do this intentionally and that they have a sense of humor.
All of the pics and videos I post are taken by me. For more OC nature vids check my profile or look for See Through Canoe Company on YouTube, BlueSky, FB & other social media sites.

Has that dolphin been in contact with a few boat motors, or are they all scarred up like that? That's a lot of scarring on the fin and along the sides.
SeeThroughCanoe
It's really hard to tell without seeing it closer. Inshore dolphins get scratched up a lot though, offshore ones, not so much. They get scratched up chasing prey in shallow water, they get "rake marks" from fighting with each other, and many of them have scars from shark bites. Contrary to what most people think, sharks prey on dolphins regularly in inshore waters. Over 30% of the dolphins in one of the bays near here have scars from shark bites.

dolphins are one of the few animals aside from humans to take recreational drugs, they have been known to fuck with puffer fish, get stung, and get high off the venom because its not lethal to them.

Also, recreational sex.

White nose? Injured or birth mark?

It's Florida. It's been snorting a mix of asbestos and white supremacy

Oh my! And my husband is trying to figure out why I won’t live in Florida.
SeeThroughCanoe
it could be from sticking its nose in the sand a lot to root out snacks like shrimp. It's hard to tell though, it could be something else.
