Dear Dad,
It was just 3 hours ago I received the worst phone call of my life. I wish I could talk to you one more time!!! We just spoke on Sunday and I got to tell you how much I love you, miss you and how I think of you every single day. I was going to call you tonight after I cleaned up from supper, but I waited too long.
Dad, I love you so much, and I know you know that because I told you all the time. I'm so sorry I can't say it once more to you. I hope you will watch over me every day because I really need you to. I don't know what I'm going to do knowing that I can't just pick up the phone and hear your voice. I miss you so much already!!
The only solace I can take from this is knowing you are no longer in pain. I hope you are in a much better place and granny, grandpa, and your brother Fritz are all with you on the other side. You were so loved, dad. Please know that I will never stop.

I didnt do well at my Dad's funeral. I locked up in everyway you can for days. I visit and quietly talk to his grave, much more therapeutic.

That’s how it was for me, too...except it took about 2 years for me to feel his loss entirely. Remember that ANY way you feel is ok.
