My support dog needs your support.

This is Rook. She's my emotional support animal.

My name is Seth. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and PTSD. Rook is what helps me get out of bed in the morning, and keeps me sleeping sound at night, and makes life worth living in-between. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old.

She's sick. Very sick.

My pet sitter mistakenly let her out of her sight for long enough for her to ingest a bottle of pills. She is showing signs of severe toxicity and it has only gotten worse in the two days since she's been admitted.

I never thought I’d have to make one of these. I’m trembling and feel like I’m going to vomit. If the toxicity in her kidneys doesn’t go down in the next day her chances don’t look good.

I was told that we’re not quite at the stage where we have to consider a new kidney, but the fact that it’s even been brought to the table is severely worrying. If it came to that though not many vets are okay to do such a procedure so in addition to what I would assume is an exorbitant fee I would have to travel.

I currently work as a server at a retirement facility. I don’t have the finances to make these things happen. I’d happily put myself in the poorhouse if it meant I could help my baby girl but putting me in the poorhouse is not a hard thing to do. It's something I basically have already done.

I’m asking for anyone’s help. I need money. I don’t know how much but it’s already cost me a couple thousand just to come this far. If you can’t help please send this along. Upvote it so it gets seen. I’m begging you. Don’t just scroll past this. I genuinely don’t think I could live without her.

She’s not even a year old yet. She hasn’t even begun to live. Don’t let me lose her. Please.

If I manage to raise more than the funds required I'll happily donate the remainder to some form of animal organization. I'm open to suggestions here. I don't want money. I just want my girl back.

As an update to those who have seen this before: we've raised a lot of money and I am just so beside myself thinking about how generous people can be. $2,500 is not a small number! But Rook is approaching a very serious moment. Tonight in about 2 hours the veterinary hospital will take her 96 hour bloodwork. Most dogs with this kind of toxicity see improvement by 48, but her levels have only gotten higher. If her levels haven't dropped by tonight her prospects start looking grim. The next steps would be dialysis or transplant of her kidneys, which are both about as expensive as they sound. So please show us your support. Even just a dollar, or even just an upvote or share could help save her life.
