Seconds Before Disaster: Endor Drift

Deployment! This week I am trying Madine for those sweet extra yaw ticks. This fleet is "Yaw'll Watch Your Back" and we're playing Dangerous Territory with me as the second player. He is running Sato.

*Yes, I know the Death Star is orbiting Endor's third moon but that sort of semantics makes for long titles.

I thought he'd scatter obstacles more, but he ended up grouping them up with the ones I placed to make this a very close quarters game. I thought this would benefit Mon Karren's nose gun so I took her right up the middle.

The Brave Little Flotilla That (Almost!) Could is finally learning to stay in cover!

We went in for the objectives but I was a little more patient than last time. He had wide area barrage on a few ships so I had to get deliberate about spacing my ships. I misjudged my move and let him double arc the 80/wasn't able to trap it in like I'd hoped.

We traded some beefy blows and moved past each other. Wide area barrage did for the BLFT(A!)C though. For a minute I thought the tokens might give me a win/close loss if I could fly my ships out of harm's way.

Alas, his bombers ran down Mon Karren and finished it off. He had Hera giving Rogue to the A-Wings, and Dash, and I want to try something similar next time I run Sato as it's similar to squad build I'd considered for him last go round.

We ended up pretty far away from each other at the end. He beat me with an MOV around 200 for an 8/3 split on points.

Game 2 was Most Wanted vs an Ozzel fleet and I'm first player. My opponent was new and threw the list together from my limited Imp stockpile, and he tagged both the big ships as objective ships so slugging match it is!

My biggest takeaway from Game 1 was regret over not getting the most out of Madine's maneuverability, so I slipped Mon Karren in on the very edge after dropping the 90/Flotilla so I could cut in at him with the nose gun/ideally get around behind.

It was a pretty casual game and we were zipping around at speed 3/4 for most of it. Here is the 30 bravely going into battle.

He moved the ISD forward and I am honestly amazed he didn't ram or overlap. Literally centimeters to spare on either edge.

Going first was a huge boon to me here, as i was able to last/first the 30 a few times to get some heavy hits off while flying it safely out of arcs afterward.

And this one is even closer than the earlier shot as he slipped the Arq in between the 30 and the Raider. Some zany moves in this game for sure!

A wide shot of that cluster in the middle. I felt really good about my position here as first player.

The 30 double arced the Arq and killed it, then moved past.

I got a little aggressive with the TRC90 and got it killed after ramming the Raider, but I got the Raider with a shot from MK. We had to call the game early because the shop closed and may resume next week, but I feel pretty confident I'd have got the ISD without too many further losses. Madine means I'd get the nose gun swung around and giving him a bad day even if the 30 never made it back around, and he was at the edge of the map so he has limited options for movement.

This would probably be interesting if I understood what you were talking about.

Do you have like two hours? Star Wars Armada is pretty complicated.. But mostly I post these here for more detailed write-ups I do on Reddit

Oh I know. There's just a lot of Armada 'lingo' that I as a non-Armada player, have no context for.

Lol. Three months ago I was baffled by the vocab, but now I'm dropping acronyms and abbreviations all over. The game is addicting!

So if you have a Super Star Destroyer, it'd take up the entire map?
