Never understood why is it anonymous yet they give out these tokens? Doesn't that kind of kill part of the anonminity? Congrats though OP.
Thanks man!
Participation is only as anonymous as you wish it to be. I'm very open about it. It helps me. BUT I can't tell who else is in it.

Good job man just got 9 months two days ago!
Hell yes!!! Sober baby! The Barney purple chip. (:
DestroyerBear
I'm at 8 myself. It's tough. I could really use a beer now and again but I know one will never be enough.
plutus34
+1 I'm at 6 and I also get moments of weakness. I've found making sure I'm never feeling thirsty helps (by drinking lots of water) Good luck
"One is too many and a million is never enough."

What.
Giving props to your higher power is great but don't for one minute disregard your own work. Great job, keep coming.
letters2u1992
A cornerstone of AA is giving into God. By their own power, alcoholics tend to drink. AA teaches to give into a higher power.

"Pray as if everything depended on G-d. Act as if everything depended on you. "

Its both lies and bullshit. Using god in a government program, and thinking that having self control is some kind of special achievement.
vhaynes62
It isn't for those who need it, ya gotta want it... But it isn't for those who want it, it's for those who do it!

Very well said
I second this! I stopped keeping a track after a year, and but you should give yourself a lot of credit!
ConcerningFart
Do you always need to find a higher power for AA?
No. They speak of a higher power but that can be so many things to a lot of different people.
What if you're an atheist?
I believe that no matter what stripe we all have something to hold to, for me it was faith but also faith in myself to come out the othersid
I don't believe in any higher power though. I also think it's unhealthy to believe there's a higher power, though I wouldn't discriminate...
cliojayne
Something I tell my husband constantly. God isn't going to give us everything, you gotta work for it and be proud.
pinkahboo
He is a parent so yeah i like this.
Exactly. I feel God is definitely more of a "free range" parent than a "helicopter" parent lol
Bwahahaha
Of course he is, he gave us free will. If anyone is a copter over us it is Satan. He doesn't want us have freedom.
I think it's a little more complicated than we are making it? But ya.... kind of.
Livemau
did the grace of god make u an alcoholic in the first place? my guess is that u did, and ur the one fixing it too. all u pal
With the strength that God gives him. All good is from God.
ill take things that dont exist for 500 alex

This is fantastic, God is great and will continue to do good in you. I hope to shake your hand when we go to heaven.

Here's to many more chips! That is if you get more chips... Or, maybe a multi colored chip. Keep it up, man!
yummypasta
If you start drinking again every time you get a chip, then go back to AA, you`ll get unlimited chips. WINNING
I get a blue one for a year and 1 one for each year after! Thanks for the support!
Lmdsmad
My experience with AA leads me to believe that you smoke at least a pack a day and drink coffee like it's water.
jrogon5
Most all AA groups here are smoke free. Spring, TX.

Coffee and nicotine is better than booze and meth!
sober person here: that's usually what keeps a lot of people sober in the beginning. so yes, can confirm
Coffee and diet soda - omg I drink so much diet soda. And water and Gatorade. Always had a (nonalcoholic) drink in my hand.
that wore off for me over time. careful what you satiate that with though. gatorade, water- good idea. sodas and diet ones- try and replace/
those or cut them out. you're going to be consuming a lot of that. furthermore, try exercising. it'll take the edge off the anxiety
Absolutely. It's been alllllmost two years for me and I've cut back a lot on the soda. And no Gatorade now because that shit'll make ya fat!
Omg that's so fucking true but I vape and hate coffee XD
walkingredditor
My home group meeting room has designated "vape" and "nonvape" seating because our old timers had a fit over those "robot cigarette boxes".
