95% of the cosplay community has this "good enough" mentality. Its what happens when they're only worn 1-2 times and try to have 3+ for each

Yeah, its definitely true that some people just rush and want to get numbers of costumes in. I aim to make 1-2 high quality costumes/year

Not all cosplayers compete. I'd say the majority do not. But there's little want to improve, even a little, between costumes.
