Oh.. I think that's me? It's mostly my upstairs neighbors that I hear, but I think that might count? Though currently they're not so much into arguments, but rather playing their organ. I can't tell who is who exactly, but one of them likes to really grind the pedals into their floor / my ceiling, and I definitely hear all sides of that.

No just her side he is trying to calm her down to talk

Ah yes, one of the ignored costs of walkable cities. There are reasons suburbia is most families' preference.

My neighbours are an aussie and his vietnamese wife. So the arguments are in English and Viet. My Viet girlfriend translates one side of the argument fo,r me as I an Aussie, still dont speak vietnamese.

Depends if you're arguing just to be angry and let off steam, or arguing with an actual goal in mind. The latter is less emotional and more of a discussion, and in my experience both people do listen to the other side. I try not to do the first one at all, although no one's perfect and it does happen occasionally.

Careful OP, you said 'both sides' on imgur.

This feels like something Terry Pratchett wrote

Or the friend that knows both people and isn’t afraid to listen to both separately with each of the other person’s consent. Then cuff each on the back of the head and inform them that they are both loveable dumbasses and to talk to one another.

We once got stuck in a huge traffic jam in the summer and “witnessed” a very heated debate three cars away. We and the car next to us couldn’t really decide who is right. Was fun anyhow especially when they realized that with windows down they gathered a pretty big audience listening.

I had my windows open one night & had the neighbors wake me when they got home. Apparently she had too much to drink and shared too much of their business with people, and he was very upset about it. Glad to say they seem to be doing alright now.

And when the cops arrive, they didn't hear anything

Ancient Chinese proverb? Greek philosopher religion? Roman senator sass? Tibetan monk musing?

Many a time I have said "You aren't listening to me, you are just waiting for your turn to talk"

That’s not true. I work side by side with two dudes who constantly bicker and argue over the dumbest shit. Like an old married couple. Now that I think about it, they may be in love. I eat that shit up

Not-so-fun Fact: During the Spanish Civil War, French citizens would actually picnic alongside bodies of water on the border to watch "both sides" of the conflict destroy each other.

Make no mistake - right wing extremists use the 'both sides' as a gateway into their bullshit. It's actually quite brilliant. They position themselves as equal to rational arguments and once they catch you they'll pull you in. Always look what their endgame is, never what the starting point is.

That is A. Correct, and B. Not what the post is about
