My fiancé and I are traveling from the US to Australia for 22 days this March. He spent a semester at Melbourne and has a few friends over there but we'd love to hear of places and things to see based on your travel experiences because usually the coolest experiences aren't the ones that get the most advertisement.
Also, if you've had any really horrible experiences that we should avoid, mention those too!

Do NOT try to make friends with local wildlife... Even the cute looking stuff will happily mess you up. Good luck, have fun, try not to die.

Visiting uluru is always worth it. Dont be one of the idiots that tries to climb it. If you like wine, the Barossa and Swan Valleys.

You used to be able to, 20 odd years ago, but not anymore. Its a holy site, would be the equivalent of climbing the cistene chapel.
