I work, pay rent, saving up for a deposit on a house and yes, now and then do the dirty genital smashing with other willing adults but every now and then I do forget that kids see me as an adult in the same way I see my parents and other grown ups as adults.

Not only do they see you as an adult, but at thirty they see you as "old". How does that make you feel...?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Smashing you say?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same happened with my nephew. Asked if I would take him paintballing. I called my dad to ask if I could. I'm moved out already

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I don't feel old enough to babysit my nephew. And I'm five years older than my brother. So I can relate.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There are two types of adults... one with kids and one who is still a kid

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

43 - still forget. Not having kids probably helps though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm 28 and I have to remind myself that I'm an adult even tho I see my parents, other older people as "real" adults

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am still waiting for that time it will change & I'll be like... oh fuck, I'm one of them now, NOOOOOOO!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I sometimes feel that way with my own child, like "who left this here and why did they think I could handle it?"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*looks around* Uh-oh. Guess I'm the grown-up....

10 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

The thought, I need an adultier adult has occurred to me quite a few times.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

*checks username* *squints* Hmmm...

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Ha, I see myself the same way and I'm 35 :-)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And the world's best secret agent

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Obviously :-)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm 30 too and I would still play with Legos if it was considered socially acceptable. The only reason for me to ever have kids would (1/2)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

be that then I would have an excuse to play with Legos. That is to say - play, not just build models of things.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm 47, have a son and still feel that way from time to time. I wonder if it ever goes away?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy cow! You mean even at 47 I'm still gonna feel this feeling? Is this how my parent feel now? Are we all just just pretending to adult?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

not pretending as such, you just cope? seriously you won't change, oh I'm 48 with a 15 y/o kid who is awesome

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I helped potty train my nephew, it was weird.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I too am technically adult but I can't keep a plant alive let alone another human.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was at a restaurant lately and the wait staff was all 18/20 one pulled the joke with me about lazy kids these days. I guess they think I'm

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

way older than 26. It made me want to crawl into a hole.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I have children of my own and I'm still not comfortable being the adult supervision. I'll always look for an adultier adult to do it for me.

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

That awkward moment you look around the room for a more "adultier adult" and to your horror you realize that its suppose to be you.

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I remember the first time I was called "Mister". My mother recently died, and I now have to accept, I'm the first line adult. It's scary.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well... I mean... I have a nephew too. But I'd rather ask his parent(s) before taking him out somewhere. That's just common curtosy.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Dont worry OP, It still throws me when people call me "Don" (respect way to tell a man in my country when offering services). I feel old.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm an adult? Sorry, I missed the memo.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

WELCOME TO REALITY INSIDE YOUR NOGGIN; it will remain that way even when you are bent, gray, half-blind and nearly deaf. 30 is forever.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Happened to me with my sis-in-law's kids. They wanted to play in the yard, & it took way too long to realize I WAS adult supervision.

My niece doesn't realise I'm an adult, but she is totally cool with me taking care of her.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So did you find someone to take you?

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Lol, I decided to be the adult. I'm no Uncle Iroh but I'm gonna give my lil neph the best best uncle ever!

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Be the uncle that Iroh knows you are

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna uncle so good, Uncle Iroh is gonna be proud of me.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm afraid to take somebody else's kid anywhere because I don't feel responsible enough. I have my own kids.

10 years ago | Likes 768 Dislikes 2

That's me too. Somebody asked me to watch their drink once, and I agreed but when they came back it was gone and I was none the wiser.

10 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 0

I figure if I'm that bad with a glass of alcohol, you do not want me watching your children.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure that people can drink babies so I'm sure you'd be fine

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but free stuff is free stuff. Who is going to pass up a free baby?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

probably the chinese if it's a girl

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not afraid of being responsible enough, I'm afraid of other parents lol

10 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

Im afraid of kids in general. These things are scary af

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

As a grown man im afraid to talk to any little kids. They're scary shit man. Responsibilities, money, attention. Yuk!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My ex used to ask me to watch his son but always criticized anything I did with him. Now I don't even want kids of my own. Some parents suck

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I still keep my head down on the bus when the rowdy kids from the local high school get on, in case they notice me and pick on me. I'm 38.

10 years ago | Likes 300 Dislikes 2

Meh just put on the "Let me speak to your manager" haircut and take them to school.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In fairness, that wouldn't stop a bunch of high school kids

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The Desert Eagle under your jacket might. 'Merica yeah.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I get it. My husband (then bf) had me forever when he once punched a punk who called me a cold bitch after I told him to stop touching me.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In fairness I do the same. I'm 5'4" however and find large crowds intimidating. Plus, kids are shits these days.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I feel you, I'm 4'11"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kids have always been shit, bro.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I remember being in 6th grade and thinking that grades (below me like 1st grade) got dumber and dumber each year but it was just me 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And my grade growing up and getting smarter as a whole

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6'3'' here. Crowds are okay but I get close to mental if it becomes too loud.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At my favorite mall they put a kids playground in the middle of the food court, I just listen to music when I go in there to pick up an 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Inhuman amount of Japanese food (enough for 4 meals for 4 ppl, I have gotten odd looks from people)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I keep waiting to hit the age when I finally feel like an adult. 26. Still waiting.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

28, never been in a relationship, earn 27k, living in apt. I feel like if a kid wanted to do something with me, I'd become a kid again too.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

F*** knows I hate my situation and am envious enough that Trump razing everything to the ground sounds... delightful. I'm a horrible adult.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

29 here checking in. I always get confused when my niece asks if I could take her places. I always think "I should ask an adult"

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

25, still living at home (im a poor university student with no monies to live anywhere else). far away from feeling like an adult lol

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

27 and very, very pregnant. Still waiting. I suspect it's never going to happen.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Congratulations, and good luck!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

35, with two kids, and a mortgage, still waiting.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This thought has plagued my 32year old self for about 12 years.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You've been 32 for 12 years?! That's amazing!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yes, most do that stop at 29 thing where they have a 29th birthday forever, for me i stopped at 32. :P

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You should tell people you are older than you are, then they could marvel at how young you look.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just tried to look cool and make a smooth recovery. I'm 32. LoL
