So my sister in law is amazing. Her parents (my in-laws) are kinda fundie Christians, and always favored their sons(including my husband) over her. And she's also realizing she's probably on the autism spectrum/ neurodivergent in some way.

Can I recommend that she checks out r/selfpublish and r/pubtips (they're a traditional publishing sub, but still help out self publishing authors), if she hasn't already? Maybe she's a one-and-done writer, but most aren't; getting in touch with a wider community might help her become more confident & knowledgeable about self-promotion & marketing to grow her audience & give her work a better chance at finding its footing.

Helping family and friends is always rewarding. My sister started to paint (hairdryer paint thing mainly) and was selling some here and there to her friends/family. Showed one of her painting to a former coworker at our usual Friday's breakfast, another coworker wanted to see it, he ended up ordering 12 big ones for his condo. That's like a $3k order... I could tell in her voice message that she was ecstatic. Sometimes little actions can go big. Hope you in-law will do well with her book.
