A Washington state staple is Wild Waves. As a kid wild waves didn’t become a thing until the late 90s. It was just Enchanted Village. I went every year as a kid and when wild waves open I went too. It was fun. The last time I went I was 16. Now, I just turned 36 and I took my kid there…it just seemed so much bigger back then. The place is so small. I pointed out to *Borat Voice* MY WIFE all the places that changed and my memories. I was confused…my favorite ride was no where to be found. I found it. The mechanism was all gone. What was left was the circular dip and the metal barrier for the line…all covered in twigs and pine needles. I stood there for a solid minute or two…
Well, my kid l, baby spice had an amazing time and went on the same train ride I did at his age. He went on an airplane ride that had the same safety straps as my grandmother’s 70s Buick! That one was his favorite.
Sadly, it’s all turning into a warehouse…no more fun.

I wanted to show the final map, but I need to emphasize something from this old map. On the bottom right, #11. It is a fully enclosed staircase to get to those slides. Want to know what the floor was? If you thought cheap carpet, then you’re right! It was uneven too so dirty water pools were at the corners when you turned. It was so unsanitary.
Okay, now to the final part. This is the final map. Bask it in. Now imagine it as a white warehouse with probably an Amazon symbol…

Same for me and Busch Gardens in Tampa. Used to go every year in the 80s and 90s. When me and MY WIFE moved to Tampa in 2011 I took her there and it was soooo different. Still fun but no longer what my memories were.

RIP Wildwaves. I had a season pass there one summer in the mid 2000s, and there are pictures of a very small me on all the kiddie rides in the 90s - good times. I'm glad you were able to take your kid there before it goes away.

There is a small amusement place in my home town. when i was a kid the pirate ship ride there was 3 stories tall. I had an event at the place and the same ride was only 20 feet tall. I was so dissapainted.

When I was 5 my parents bought a huge house. I remember it as being so big with so many rooms and spaces. I went back to the house some 30 years later as it was converted into a B&B. The place didn’t feel as big as I remembered it.
