Steroids in professional sports

This is probably due to the fact that my gym has a lot of people already on steroids and I've become numb to the whole situation. They know what they're doing, they know how it affects them, and some of them go to their doctors to make sure they're not doing significant or irreversible damage. Why can't we allow professional sports to be like this and have an informed discussion on steroid use instead of having everyone caught be vilified through the media.

One of my work mates takes them. When he is on his cycles he is an emotional roller coaster.

1)Not all drugs are the same. In cycling, EPO is used so the body creates more red blood cells. In 1998 they instituted a "50% rule"

4)some cyclists are known to have raised their mature red blood cell volume to 60+%

3)the rule was: you could not have more than 50% blood volume consist of mature red blood cells. Normal/healthy, most ppl are around 40-45%

2)because cyclists had been taking so much, some were dying every year due to heart attacks/strokes because they made their blood too thick

Nobdy uses them or everybody does.

i dont care if people do it, but its unfair for organizations because then its forcing everyone to do it not for an edge but to remain

competitive. and its not fair for the people who dont want to take it.

i also disagree with using it for things like the olympics which are about the spirit of competition and the limits of the human body
