Thank you for all the support and lovely messages guys. You made a scary situation a lot mor approachable.
This is an update to my previous post: http://i.imgur.com/gTcIWli.jpg So I finally came out to my mum and it went really well. Like many of you suggested she said she had known for a long time and had even tried to give me prompts to come out in the past (which I was too oblivious to recognise). She said I was still loved and said she'd support me always which is much better than I expected.Again thank you for all the support guys, it really helped me. I know that for a lot of people coming out to your parents can lead to rejection and it was so reassuring to know I'd have a safety net if that had happened. Thank you Imgur.

Well apparently she kept saying 'partner' instead of girlfriend when referring my future relationships etc. I hadn't even noticed though.
