This week was my birthday!

I got a big promotion at work on Monday

Tuesday was my birthday

My dad said if I came down he would get the vaccine as a present because I wanted him to be safe

He really wanted me to come down so he could tell me I trust 'the internet and science too much'

And that because I got the first vaccine shot last week but still wore a mask, I'm a hypocritice

Because if I wear a mask still I don't trust the vaccine

And said if he died it was my fault

Because I convinced him not to get the vaccine by wearing a mask

My boyfriend is an epidemiologist

He tried to help. My dad hates him too now

Decided 'fuck it' and visited my mom's grave for some extra sad apparently

Got home and decided to have a night with my boyfriend trying to salvage it

We binge watched bridgerton (hella good)

The there was a loud pop, green lightning, and the electricity went out

Electricity box was sparking

Stayed up all night waiting for thr electric company

Slept five hours over three days

I browsed Facebook just to shut down my brain

And it suggested nothing but beautiful pictures of wonderful places

Two people also donated to my birthday fund that like everyone ignores

It's hard to be happy right now

But these puppies help

This one was a picture I found on Google of a wisteria tree. I have one in my yard that's knee high. It's just neat

I hope these bring someone some happiness. If not at least my phone has some more space ?

I read it all, and you're right for wearing a mask even with the vaccine. I have a vaccine.. got it almost a month ago, I still wear masks.

So, you're successful at your job, and you care about your remaining parent? You're a good egg OP. And imo, you should travel somewhere ASAP

Just go grab a tent or a small camper and go to a new place you've never been. Even for just a weekend.

Sorry to be negative but the birthday funds thru FB are basically scams for FB to write it off as a donation that they personally made

It's the same with smile.amazon.com, but the way I look at it is if that money does make it to a group in need, it's better than nothing

I've only been to 4 of the locations: Budapest (2 photos), Ronda (2 photos), Köln and Edinburgh. Would definitely cheer me up to visit more.

Sounds like your dad wouldn't have gotten the vaccine anyway. He used it to try to manipulate you, then used you as an excuse not to get it

You're not responsible for him. If you hadn't worn a mask, he would have come up with another excuse. His poor decisions are not your fault.

I know it still sucks, but try not to pile the blame on yourself. Only makes a bad situation worse. You're doing the best you can.
