Chilly Willy?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved this. The penguin warming his bum and tummy by the stove is literally me in the shower with the hot water. Too cold? Rotate!

CHILI WILLIE!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved that cartoon

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder if millions of tiny spouts using capillary action could make this work (in an extremely limited way).

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't really think you could generate thrust through capillary action.

Pablo

I love this! I can't believe I recognize this too... Wow thanks for posting

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This is my favorite example of cartoon physics

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pablo!! I had the book as a kid!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

could work. Haven't tested it yet, but it could work.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cartoon Physics are the best Physics

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it works it ain't stupid

8 years ago | Likes 423 Dislikes 9

The reason this doesn’t work is the tub needs to sink down in order for water to come out the back

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I disagree. My brother Scott works and he is the stupidest person I've ever met.

8 years ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 1

I know a white guy with a dumb brother named Scott

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I know a Scott. He has crippling anxiety and every time we hang out it's like therapy session.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And how does that make you feel?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I remember watching this as a kid... what the hell was it from??

8 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 3

The three caballeros. Nailed it.

There was a book version called The Penguin Who Hated the Cold or something.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah i remember

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, that and "I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew" were my favorite books as a little kid.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now THAT is what I was looking for :D

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...if your boat was heavy as fuck and had a big hole funneling into smaller spouts like that.. wouldn't you get propulsion?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, because the water wouldn't rise above the water line, and wouldn't come out of the spouts.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Say it had an initial starting suction à la siphoning gas?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Siphoning requires the fluid to fall from one end of the tube to the other.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't see how having a hose down a gas tank pumping gas against gravity is different than the boat application.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Siphoning isn't against gravity, the receiving container has to be lower.

THE THREE CABALLEROS!!!!!!

Yeah! I knew I saw this somewhere!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

THANK YOU! I knew I knew this scene but could NOT remember where from.

WE LIKE TO SING AND TO DANCE AND TO STOMP ON THE GROUND

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ooooooh, we have the stars to guide us, guitars here beside us, to play as we go

Still the greatest song in any Disney movie ever https://youtu.be/Wf2OYnxOeps

This would be hard to show to children today without having to explain what the original meaning of gay is. Smh

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I feel like it's still used as 'joyful' in parts of the UK or Scotland maybe. At least, I hope it is.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is my favorite of all the disney movies.

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I used to watch this three times a day when I was a kid.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I will forever have that little red bird stuck in my head. FOREVER! BABABABBBADIA BABABABABABADIA. BABA HA BABA HA BABA HA BABA HA.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm quite sure I drove my father nuts running around the house doing that as a small child. Frozen ain't got shit on that level of annoying

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The aracuan bird? or panchito?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The Aracuan obviously! https://youtu.be/mA0r1Zw8T7Q

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol. And thus the madness spreads. That person is sick for having it go on for 2 hours.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This works in real life too.

8 years ago | Likes 104 Dislikes 12

Without other forces acting upon it the water would only rise up the pipe to the same level as the surrounding water. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yeah but the tub would stop sinking so...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

2/2 Water always finds its own level.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not without additional propulsion / not without adding energy somehow.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

Well.....the energy in theory is gravity. Pushing the tub down, pushing water into the showerhead. I guess it may work on a different scale.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope. The water in the pipe will rise to the level of the lake, and stay there. maybe if you jumped up and down, but that's energy.
