The camera hits the ground and you can see all kinds of blood pooling around it. Weirdly enough you only here a short muffled scream before it just goes quiet aside from some chewing and slurping sounds.
I'm pretty sure you're wrong. That is clearly a puppy acquired from the best timeline through a portal. The puppy has now joined the ranks of the goodest of bois; a gift to this darker timeline to send us a glimmer of hope that better things are possible through empathy, snuggles, and puppy dog kisses.
