This Day in Gaming History...Oct.2st!

Hey you guys! Welcome back to THIS DAY IN GAMING HISTORY!

Today is a loaded one (well, with two huge and awesome titles, surprisingly not a lot of 2nd releases though).

So, to kick off, we have one of the best games ever made: Castlevania SotN. Man, oh man, ugh I love this game. Really, I just love Castlevania (hey Netflix, awesome job on the animated show, I was seriously worried). From the mechanics, world, story, everything about it is amazing to me. But the reason why this one stands taller for me? The twist, which (spoiler), still is such an awesome twist. The fact you basically replay the game over, but in upside-down and remixed levels to fight Dracula was so damn awesome. Plus, Alucard being the son of Dracula refusing his father still stands as an awesome story beat to me. I still hope that Konami attempts to remaster this one one day, but for now Bloodstaind is in my heart and soul forever (plz be amazing).

Ah yeah, Earthworm Mutha-fudging Jim. The original is still something quite special for me; one of the earlier SNES titles I played, and it still is so goofy, interesting, and unique. Something that for many still remains something nostalgic and amazing. I am pulling for it to return one day, but please learn from 3D please.

Finally, RE 6. The only main RE title I have not played, and honestly don't want to. 5 was ok, with the Co-Op being the only reason I liked it (me and my dad beat it together a few years back, was loads of fun). But I hated the direction RE was going, and I had a feeling 6 would be more of that and it seemed even worse; seemed to be disjointed, disorganized, and lost the horror that made the franchise so amazing. BUT, even the worst RE game is still solid, and from what I have seen it looks fine, and hey - it did lead to RE getting basically rebooted in a sense with 7, approaching the franchise from a fresh and new direction (can't wait to buy PS VR eventually and play that through on it, ready to poo myself. Same for Ace Combact 7).

Quick one today, and not much to really rant about each game honestly because, hey, Jim and SotN speak for themselves. Never the less, I greatly appreciate you guys popping on on these fun posts I make for shits and gigs, and I will continue to keep the pace up as best as I can.
