rubber band 

So this is funny and so true

I wish the media would stop putting men down. For years I've seen commercials making fun of dads and I hate it. Feminism is a thing that needed to happen- we needed the right to vote, own land, etc. Little girls NEED to know they can grow up to be anything they want to be.

BUT you can build up little girls at the same time as building up little boys. I volunteer at my little sister's youth group and the boys in the group have such low self confidence. I call this a rubber band effect cause it makes sense to me. For years society was going in the direction of putting down girls/women. Feminism finally came to the forefront and gained women their rights (there is still a little ways to go, but the way people are going about it is not ok), women were finally able to have the same jobs as men, etc. But now feminism is starting to go too far. It is devaluing men. It is saying that women are better than men.

So the rubber band thing, when you go too far in one direction eventually everything will spring back in the opposite direction and then the problem starts all over again.

Men are not better than Women. Women are not better than Men. We are just different. And that's ok. And we can and should get along and not put each other down. Someday, when I have little baby boys of my own, I need to know that they will grow up with a deep respect and honor for women and receive respect and honor.

So guys- I hope you haven't been pushed down by the media and society too much. I want you to know that I honor and respect you. You're not defined by the stupidity projected by the media.

Ladies- Its tough to be a girl. But we are doing it and making it and we can do this.

So ya, let's learn to get along and have honor and respect for each other. If we learn to do this then maybe this world can calm down a little.
