Indian Filter Coffee

Imgurians seem to love coffee so I wanted to share the very less known indian filter coffee which is slightly stronger than the western drip coffee.

Filter Coffee is a sweet milky coffee made from dark roasted coffee beans (70%-80%) and chicory (20%-30%)

South Indian coffee is brewed with a metal device that resembles two cylindrical cups, one of which has a pierced bottom that nests into the top of the "tumbler" cup, leaving ample room underneath to receive the brewed coffee. The upper cup has two removable parts: a pierced pressing disc with a central stem handle, and a covering lid.

Add the decoction to 2-3 spoons of boiled milk with froth

I want to try it brewed like that, it looks delicious. Is it very bitter with the chicory?

Yes, it has a slight bitter taste but it mellows down with roasting. Cafe De Monde's coffee also is a mixture of chicory and coffee beans..

I know, I'm not a fan of cafe Du Monde's coffee. Chicory isn't something I enjoy. It's just too bitter for me.
