I was actually wondering this, is it capitalism or is it the long term peace along with a more liberal society, that improves lives? Because so much of the harms and destructions of lives come from war and now from capitalist competition. The more we work together, especially as we see the value of other people, then the world gets better. Cooperation is what helps the world, not competition.
