So Sick of Internet Outrage...

As a gay man I have enjoyed dozens of movies about gay people played by straight people. Many stories that may never have made it to theaters if it wasn’t for an actor choosing to audition for a role that portrayed someone other then who they are in real life. It’s a shame that this movie Rub and Tug may never be made now. What If the gay community stood up and complained about movies like Brokeback Mountain, Philadelphia, Monster, Dallas Buyers Club, Milk, Call Me By Your Name, The Kids Are All Right, The Hours, Jeffery, Trick, The Birdcage, Angels in America, and the Laramie Project for having Hollywood cast straight actors. If your community isn’t being heard then write and produce good movies that celebrate that community. Hire good actors to portray the voices that can’t be heard. Don’t bully them for not being the same. For in the end what makes a good movie. All I know is that I don’t pick and choose my movies based on the actors real life Idenity.
