Last Photo of my Grandpa

These are the last two Photos of my Grandpa, who died today

You can see him smiling. My Grandparents just discovered how to take a selfie with the phone of my brothers girlfriend. It was his birthday just 2 months ago.
He was sad for a long time and still silent most of the time that day, because he lost his ability to speak due to a stroke.
He was battling cancer and had it for the second time. Maybe he was in a bad mood because of his medication.
Anyway, he looks so happy there and I want to remember him like that.

You can see my Grandma holding her Hand to her mouth in disbelief of how modern technology works.
They both lived through the aftereffects of WW2 Germany in one of the most bombarded towns. My Grandpa collected rubble from the ruins and used office supplies and stuff he found to play or sell on the streets.
I wanted to talk with him a bit more about his stories and also wanted to show him pictures of my latest vacation abroad but hey, I guess sometimes we miss chances.

So hold on to your family, once they are gone there is no second chance.

I hope the world can remember this great guy like he always was... and like he is in this picture.
With a smile on his face and a joke on his lips, doing everything that is fun and keeping the spirits lifted around him.
