#6 I took my kids to Disneyland and the Galaxy's Edge and they just screamed at me and cried that they didn't want to be there and that they were missing youtube time, and they hated waiting in line and then had a tantrum and said they hated me.
This isn't a joke. It sucked. They'd been working on me for a while and I was trying to get back some joy in life but they absolutely killed it here and I haven't been better since.

Sorry to hear that. As a parent too it's a struggle getting my daughter off screens.
My solution for the past couple years is I ha e her use a timer box that turns off the TV after so long and she needs to do something that's not on a screen for a half hour before going back on. This way I don't have to nag or keep track of time so much

Screen time is like a drug for kids. They were going through a form of withdrawal. It is hard as a parent to balance your responsibilities, your enjoyment, their enjoyment, and building bonds as a family. It does get better over time. Hang in there. It will be hard but try limiting screen time and do other activities with them like card games or building models. It will be a chore at first but once you find something they enjoy it will get easier. Right now my oldest loves Uno.

Being a parent is a thankless job I’m sorry they ruined something your so passionate about. Just keep trying to raise them to be good people and you might be able to have a blast next time with a fully fledged human when you try again in their 20s.

Well, it's not that I was super passionate about it, it's just that I had so little joy left that they succeeded in crushing what was left and I haven't been able to enjoy anything since that, and it was more than 2 years ago.
