They could, if they wanted to. But nails are much faster, much cheaper, and they do the job.

They can. But the real issue is backing out a bent screw. It has nothing to do with "A screw will snap" if its made from the same material it will also bend. But we do not use bendy material for screws much cause if it bends it will be next to impossible to get out without major damage. It's just goofy how the person presented the info.

They can and they do but they cost a bunch. Simpson makes what they call structural screws or something like that and they're designed to put up with a lot of shearing force. A screw has to be really thick to prevent shearing and maintain it's screw shape and a nail doesn't

#5 is dumb. The screw is a fastener. It holds two things together with enough friction force that they cannot shear. A nail is simply because they can shoot dozens in a minute and it is usually that the outside material doesn't need much holding force.

I also assumed the material matters. the screw in question is quite obviously from harder steel, than the nail. If made from same material, with close enough diameter, they'd be both behaving about same. Also aren't screws often used on things you wanna be able to undo if necessary? I don't see many houses being regularly and orderly being dismantled for relocation.

With something as big as a house, you're going to have sheering forces at play, whether the house is settling, or possibly something like an earthquake. Nails deal with this better. But they're also cheaper, and like you said, you can deploy them much faster, both of which are important when even a small house can use 20,000 nails.

If a screw holds two objects together they will have a friction force which will then counteract any shearing forces acted on the screw

It's also for how long a building is supposed to last. Nailed walls will fall apart in a couple of years and have to be repaired.
Screwed walls are sturdier and for longer lasting constructions built.
You won't find nailed walls in Germany. Every wood structure gets constructed using screws.
