Alton Brown is a genius

Jan 6, 2019 1:23 AM

I see all these memes with Chopped being the cooking show. Cutthroat is much more entertaining

And the Great British Bakeoff is better than both of those combined.

I love cutthroat kitchen. It's delightfully evil. I cackle sometimes when the sabotages come out.

You know what? They both rule. Each has a different theme so mood depending yeah

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Isn't there a video of a cutthroat kitchen winner saying "I won Chopped!"

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I disagree

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stopped watching Chopped as it got so whiney, and can't stand Guernacelli in anything. Immediate show skip with her in it.

Cutthroat Kitchen is proof that Alton Brown is an Evil Genius masquerading as a chef

7 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

He'd be a villain if not for the magic time-travleing tall dwarf lawyers.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Because it has Alton Brown, obviously.

7 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Alton Brown is a goddamn sadist is what he is. Great show but I do miss Good Eats.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I like both but Alton Brown makes everything better.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I prefer to see what cooks come up with from what’s given. Not a fan of someone screwing up their plans and coming up with crappy dishes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cutthroat kitchen is really fun but I feel like chopped is like the cooking version of watching sports.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish they had cooking shows instead of reality tv shows that somewhat involve cooking. :(. As much as Guy Fieri gets memed Triple D is 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually my favorite show on the channel 2/2.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah what happened to cooking shows?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dog turds are better than cat turds. Change my mind.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Cook here. Cutthroat kitchen is just random bullshit. Chopped is more interesting to watch to see the creativity and skill of the chefs.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try the final table. Pretty amazing chefs

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Alton Brown is a text-book sadist in that show. I love it.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why are people using Chopped? What is Cutthroat Kitchen? And why is no one posting the king? v

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This, also Top Chef is better than Masterchef

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Worst cooks in America is by far the best. Some funny shit happens at all times on that show

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Chopped doesn’t teach you anything. Just a basket full of ingredients any sane person would never put together.

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

I’ve actually learned a lot watching chopped. Techniques and what to do/not to do with certain foods.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s not about teaching. It’s watching how much more creative other people are compared to you.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Too bad it features the same bullshit "drama" you don't want and would rather have just watching them cook.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love Alton Brown, and I like Cutthroat Kitchen, but I prefer the showmanship and cooking only based judgement of Great British Bake Off.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Alton's word is kitchen gospel.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd rather watch Iron Chef Japan.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I think cooking shows have taken to humiliating people, which I do not enjoy.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cutthroat Kitchen is more fun as a show, but Chopped is more interesting for the food and dishes created.

7 years ago | Likes 343 Dislikes 3

yes, and then we have the great british bakeoff

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's fair

7 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 0

This is not how internet conversations are supposed to work.

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Chopped became more about who had the saddest sob story (not always...but way too often)

7 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Because they started asking competitors who they were playing for during judging. I don't care what you'll do with 10k.

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

So many of the CK contestants are just stupid about gamesmanship. It's entertaining to watch, but I yell at the TV too much.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Iron chef was better tbh

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Agreed. I like Chopped because winning is based more on culinary knowledge/skill

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Contest/reality cooking shows are garbage. I want useful information, not drama.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Food Network has plenty of those. It’s a nice mix

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That being said, I do like Alton Brown quite a lot. He and his shows tend to be very informative.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watch "The Final Table" on Netflix. It's fantastic. Also Chef's Table if you want something compelling and informative.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they really are. I thought this season's masterchef concept was interesting with the judges "mentoring" some contestants, but then they

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

never actually showed them mentoring at all other than the occasional 1 min sitdown where they were like "you can do it!" etc. Garbage.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Most of the cooking competition shows you learn next to nothing, they're just abbreviated soap operas

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's rather watch Good Eats

7 years ago | Likes 220 Dislikes 7

I used to own the entire series on DVD and an Alton Brown apron. Fucking love that dude

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, when he was basically Bill Nye the cooking guy!

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That show was my shit growing up.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s coming back

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you watched his new show Good Eats: Reloaded where he fixes up some of his old episodes? Also Good Eats is coming back in 2019.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Some of it

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't like evil Alton :(

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Omg same

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watch Reloaded to tide you over and Alton just posted rough sketches for the kitchen in the new Good Eats.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd rather eat.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Swipe to text on my new phone seems to always pick the wrong word for me.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have links to bootleg copies of every season except 8 & 15 and YouTube. Let me know, I’ll drop links to them if you want.
