#1 That's a dragon with feathers.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Iirc that last one was a dog who'd been lost for a long time and this was it catching the scent of, and finding, their owner

10 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Was wondering what it was leading up to. First the dog, then the person choke-holding the kid, then the creepy twins....

#22 turns out they can't see extra colors, because they just don't blend colors like we do. We have 3 kinds of photoreceptors and send the signals from them to our brain to blend the results. They have a separate photoreceptor for each color they can see, and just respond the one that's the most strongly activated. They don't send the signals to their brain to be combined, so they actually see fewer colors than we do.

And we have devices to perceive much more. NDgT always talk about how many senses he has

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So they can't see pink?

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Beat me to it. It made me a bit sad when I found that out. So here's a cool fact to balance it.

Purple doesn't actually exist. There is no wavelength for a mix of blue and red. They are opposite ends of the spectrum. We can see it because our eyes do the blending trick. We can see colors that don't exist.

So then, HOW DO WE MAKE THINGS PURPLE SMART GUY? (Jk)

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If I could be any bird it would be a hummingbird.

#5 tell me you have autism without telling me you have autism. This is one of the most niche examples of a special interest I've ever seen lol

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So everyone with a hobby has autism? How reductive.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

When did I ever say everyone with a hobby has autism? Having encycolpedic knowledge of your collection of over 200 fans is not the same as everyone else who 'has a hobby'. Both my partner and I are on the spectrum, we know what it looks like. It thrills me to see this kid so invested in and passionate about his special interest. It's very cool and heartwarming.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Being passionate about your hobby rather than being casual about it is autistic? No. Though if you and your mate are autistic then what you're doing is autistismification.

Hmmm... How does one copy working direct links to images in the current 'state' of the app nowadays?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It usually works if you delete everything in that link after "com/" up to and including the "#" and then add ".mp4" or ".gif" at the end (you have to guess for that bit, but at least you can see if it works before you publish the comment): https://imgur.com/H1OVLNq.mp4

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So this should work? Thanks! Imgur, tho: https://imgur.com/RxlXJ4s.mp4

Yes & yes!

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's the neat part, you don't.

Honestly seems the only way is to favorite the single image or video, then post from favorites

#6 In Europe, you just take sick leave. It's paid as well! I'm totally fine if you do that once a year. Everybody has their bad moments where they need some time just laying in bed.

10 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Well, yeah, sure. BUT then you don't get to shit your pants, so...it's 50/50 in my book.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nobody's stopping you from also shitting your pants.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

WAAAAAAY ahead of you, homie!

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine actually having paid sick leave. (cries in American)

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Imagine getting to take multiple paid weeks off because you feel depressed. That's possible where I live.

Unionise and shame the people that talk it down, and shame them in a stern way.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I want more info on #40 I mean, is that a stay dog and those people just always happen to be there at that time of day everytime? Did they lose their dog and it happen to track them down? Is that place done sort of shelter for people to feed and take care of dogs?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The middle sentence.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I recall correctly the dog had run away and been gone and was wandering the street and found their owner

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's awesome
