I like that it has a railing. In the Star Wars universe that's not always the case. But I guess CAT would build them to be safe.

That thing would be quite useful in some really rough terrain

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe if cat built them, they wouldn't have been taken down by cable and a small ship

This honestly looks cooler than the real thing. (If one can say that an AT-AT is a real thing)

I think something is wrong with your cat.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Would be cool, I'd get to build the heat exchangers for it

Cat dog

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i wonder if this could be practical. a walking construction unit. might be good in disasters

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is rad. Makes sense too because it looks expensive and they're only using it for an observation platform.

I just wish I could see and or ride in a giant dump truck of theirs...that would be amazing.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

CAT should build one of these as a promotion.

The observation deck is the front of a Komatsu 930E Haul Truck.

first, let's work on the tax fraud thing.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Look up caterpillar cold planer, wouldn't take much to covert.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Someone should just build one already. Please.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd rather have the loader from Aliens.

9 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

This is a "Why not both?" situation if there ever was one.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Trying to think what you could actually use in the field for or what you can equip it with

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's for pulling heavy loads. You just hook the cable to what they're towing and loop it around the legs a few times.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haul some big ass rocks.

Mobile lunchroom.

Mobile Antarctic laboratory? Seems well equipped to traverse extreme environments.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Legs are a stupid means of transversal. Very difficult to get right. Balance is a bitch without an inner ear.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Legs are great - for extremely rough terrain, and with 4+ of them. Everywhere else, yeah they're pretty dumb.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gyroscopes? Serious question.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What happens when you need to go uphill? The thing keeping you balanced now is not correct relative to the new plane you are walking on.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I take it you don't like CAT... Ive never used their equipment, but do like their boots

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

They make a mean sock.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like cats.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Never used their boots, but like their equipment.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I could go on for years about software, hardware wise... Craftsman 10" bandsaw is a total POS when trying to put on a 1/8" blade

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously, I want to throw it out of the window of a 10 story building right now!!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, great footwear. I once bought a pair at a discount warehouse and an eyelet failed, CAT sent a new pair from a more expensive line

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Takes a very special sort of person to return shoes. Good luck with that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for the well wishes. They didn't ask me to return them, though. They replaced the faulty ones NQA. Super cool company

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I make spoons from wood, terms like "NQA" take me a minute to process... so my opinion doesn't mean shit ;)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never used their stuff either, but my beef is with Deere. Just thought imgur would like this.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

John Deere. When everything is in metric and the company owns the software even after you buy it. And lease maintenance is never done. $$$

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Badass image though, just wanted to say so if it is your work, very well done!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can honestly say that I wish I were more knowledgeable on the subject yet lack any and all desire to make it happen

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Short version: Deere doesn’t believe the peasants should be able to repair their equipment.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Never had a garage, never worked construction...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a boss once who thought knowledge shouldn't be free for everyone. I sincerely hope that twat dies a slow agonizing death

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Buy their stock. You will like CAT then. Even if you're a dog or deer person.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Had deer jerky once, it was disgusting

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Then you probably didn’t have good jerky.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was reirdeer jerky from Finland ... and it was slimy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cat is buying up every equpiment sector. Use to be so many different companies, now its Cat, Hitachi, Komatsu, and Volvo

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cat makes the best dozers. People buy Komatsu cause its cheap, not cause its good. Hitachi makes most popular excavators and shovels

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

CAT is a cool looking brand name IMHO... However, I also get wood over Jeeps, even though they suck

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

FUCK Komatsu and there stupid engineers! Their hydraulics are a pain to work with.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am an idiot on the subject, but you did not describe a monopoly

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wasnt trying too. But like underground equipment, theres really only two companies now. Neither were in the industry at all 15 years ago

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am currently trying to align the wheels of a Craftsman bandsaw with a 1/8" blade... so, if you've ever tried, you can understand pure rage

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Broke three blades today already...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ugh... things only get cheaper and cheaper as the decades roll on. I have not tried, but i can feel your pain
