Okay so here's the deal. I want to make something like this for a costume. I have a stop sign that I can use. Only I've never made anything like this before.
What I'm getting at is CAN ANYONE HELP!?
I need tips on how to cut it, shape it, and hold it together.
A novice cosplayer in search for help. If you have any help available I would greatly appreciate it. I'll accept just about any form of help if you're polite about my stupidity. Thanks Imgur!

go to reddit, they have do it yourself and cosplaying subs and stuff like that.

Do it with carboard first!

Use cardboard first. (cheap, easy) Then start thinking about materials. (btw image source look for etsy > MechMadnessDesigns)

Mock up in card/poster board. Chicago screws, rivets (regular or jiffy) and nylon straps for attachment/binding. Quick and dirty to start.

Cutting that aluminum may be tough depending on the alloy. Jig saw probably your best bet. Throat less shears if the material is thin.

If it's your first time attempting something like this, go a lot simpler, build up to it, don't dive in at the deep end and all that.

No idea, I have never been interested in cosplay and know nothing about it, I do a lot of other crafts though, hence my advice.

Sorry I can't do much more, jewellery making doesn't translate well to stop sign shoulder pads.
