If you're referring to Zionism and recognizing Israel, both are unpopular. Then again a lot of Iranians were suckered into fighting for Pahlavi because the current administration of Iran is unpopular with them as well. Like anywhere it depends on who you ask. In the wider middle east most people have solidarity with Palestine, but most governments are unwilling to do anything about it for fear of provoking the US and Israel, or losing trade, or losing access to US/Israeli weaponry.

Immediate family Pahlavi*, yes. No official evidence of America supporting the installation of Khomeini. They did pave the way the preceding years by the way the CIA operated and had a hand in the coup in 1950s. America supported the Shah then as well to secure oil interests.

The Shah was the puppet ruler installed after Prime Minister Mosaddegh was overthrown by the CIA. Khamenei came to power because everyone hated the Shah.

Mosaddegh (a member of the former Qajar dynasty) was overthrown by the army because he tried to dissolve congress. The Shah was exiled because people wanted democracy. The US helped a theocracy co-opt the revolution and install theocrats as part of their containment strategy against the USSR. This was during the same period they began training the Mujahideen for the same purposes.
