I think this would help men communicate much more effectively. Can we normalize this?

He left that door open for far too long! We trying to heat up the world? Were you raised in a barn?

The mom is a fierce & funny Italian woman who's obsessed with taking care of her family. Her decor style is trash, but her love for her family is wonderful. Their kids are such pests, lol.

I wanna hear the car insurance advice. "Listen, given that you have virtually no assets, there's no point in paying anything past the legal minimum for liability. You can just declare bankruptcy so long as you weren't driving drunk or recklessly at the time."

My understanding is that this advice applies even more so if you do have assets/wealth, because you can just save/invest the premium and—on average—have more than you need to replace whatever was damaged (and get to keep it, if nothing ever gets damaged). The risk is that you need to replace something early, before you’ve saved much—but if you’ve got wealth, you can afford to play the riskier-but-better-on-average odds. Which, hah, must be nice...

(At least in the US, you still want liability insurance in this scenario, even if you weren’t legally required to: Damage to a car will never cost more than replacing the car, but there is literally no limit on how much medical treatment might cost. That eliminates the favorable odds.)

this is solid advice if you don't plan to buy a home for 7 or so years, which makes sense if you're 18-25.

Honestly if you're any age and don't have assets worth suing over it's solid, cause if you're 50 and renting and driving a hooptie you probably weren't planning to buy shit other than new tires and an oil change for it in the next 7 years anyway cause you're a broke ass victim of unregulated capitalism who isn't allowed to own property because a landlord might want to sit on the portfolio with no tenant.

Ennio Morricone's work. Though I know that it is famous for westerns, I will always know and love it because of Metallica.

Automated subtitles are going to be the final death knell to conventional English spelling

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was so fucking close to correcting you because I personally always thought it was nail. The rest of your perfectly formed sentence however, told me something was fucky. So I googled it. Thank you for the teaching moment. +1

yeah that would've been the final knell in the coffin

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did consider using final nail in the coffin instead, but knell is just an excellent word
