9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Played this and the sequel so many times as a kid. Loved this game.

the PS4 remake is REALLY good btw, has all the good things with much better looks!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought Stranger's Wrath was one of the best games released from 2000 to 2005.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All of abe's games are on steam btw. I have exoddus and oddsey

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I bought them just to fail at them again

This game was the best.

They had some games on the PS store. I bought it a few years back. <3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never got why the narration started off just regular then suddenly switched to iambic pentameter fnar

Heh heh heh

We still do the praying mantra regularly in our house. My wife can imitate it perfectly.

Heh, okay

WUUUUUT *robotic marching noises*

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

So. Fucking. Difficult.

9 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 1

Weirdly, I find the reboot far harder. The old one you could depend on your actions and time it. In 3D graphics, animation timing is harder.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't know there was a reboot.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This was one of those games, where I realized what "next level" difficulty meant. Without the guide, you were not gonna win this one.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I could never save all the Mudokons. There's one secret area in the scrab temple that I just can't beat, even after like 90 tries.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shit ya, I gave up on this game pretty fast. But I was growing out of platform games by then already.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It wasn't that hard unless you were trying to save every single mudokon.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I never beat it. :(

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Loved it. Beat it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same. Can't remember if I was able to save every mudokon though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha never.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a kid, I could never do it. As an adult, I clocked that shit. Was still hard as fuck, but I fucking did it.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

I could not beat this to save my life as a kid, as an adult it was easier, but still you had to have perfect timing, and good memory.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I downloaded it for the PS4 about a year ago and got stuck in exactly the same places. Apparently I am not smarter than my 10 year old self

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I've always used a walk through, fat load of good it did me as a useless kid though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah man, what a game!! Played this and Abe's Exodus so many times. Still find farts amusing.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

And blowing up shit with them

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're implying farts are generally unamusing to some of us?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Forgot where I was for a second

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Dude, we're HUMAN! Farts are inherently funny. My baby niece farts and then laughs her head off. It's hard-wired.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can get all the old Oddworld stuff pretty cheaply on Steam, and they put out an expanded remake of Abe's Odyssey a couple years ago.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Steam is the worst for my nostalgia. All of my childhood games only cost $5-10 on there. And they're even remastering some of them in HD.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, got it on release and finished it the same week haha

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can also get it completely free via Google. They charged me once, IT'S MINE!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

(But yeah, I'm very happy that content-owners are finally making a lot of their old stuff available relatively cheaply and hassle-free now)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love too that the Internet has given old nerds enough of a hive mind and purchasing power to make it financially worth it to do so.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I only ever had the first one, so I sure didn't mind paying the five or ten bucks it cost to get all the others. But yeah, I get it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I hated the remake, the camera change ruined the feel of the game and puzzles for me, and I feel like the new graphics don't maintain the

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Agreed. The changes didn't translate well at all.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

aesthetic of the original. Also the PC port of the original is garbage, you can't remap the controls, chanting doesn't work correctly.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It runs much better in a PS emulator, especially with gpuBladeSoft graphics plugin, and the controls work correctly out of the box.
