I went to an AMA convention once, as an alternate. It's very politically diverse. Still it's very political! The psych diagnoses have had as series of "diseases" removed over the years. I think it's time to remove more because these bigots are going to say "it's classified as a disease!!"

They aren't even handing them out to women who need one medically. I was anemic, in excruciating pain. When it was finally removed the Dr said, "wow, no wonder you were in pain, your uterus is trash" (I had adeno, endo, my fallopian tubes where scarred from hulka clips, fibroids, you name it) I just stared and said ya I wasn't making anything up. I actually was suffering. I can't imagine being labeled elective and trying to get one.

not really, It's been long established that Hormone therapy, sex reassignment surgery, and other gender affirming treatments have a profound positive impact on gender dysphoria. There is of course some unresolved details that will be uncovered in future studies, such as the full list of long-term side effects of hormone therapy, but the fact that it resolves people's gender dysphoria is not really questioned. Only 1% of those who get gender reassignment regret the decision.
